OUR PASSION

Using music to bridge the divide and connect cultures, every mission is centered around the specific needs of the communities we serve. To ensure this, we take a hands-on approach, conducting research before each activation and always carrying out projects with the locals, members and leaders of these communities, as well as the promoters, venues and music lovers who support our vision.

We are successful because we do the work together.

EDUCATION

Every mission is an opportunity for us to learn and grow. Not only do we completely immerse ourselves in the local culture, but we also meet with community leaders and educators to gain more insight on what educational programs and opportunities are needed. We provide scholarships, develop music education activities, purchase school supplies for at-risk youth, and spend time teaching students basic English and arithmetic.

ENVIRONMENT

The human rights impact of climate change is clear: the world’s marginalized communities suffer more harm from and are disproportionately affected by climate change. From our artist rider to our philanthropic missions, we implement sustainable practices and work towards a sustainable future. We partner with eco-friendly brands, are involved in cleaning and gardening projects, and support sustainable programs and environmental initiatives.

FOOD & HUNGER

The World Food Programme reports that 821M people, or more than 1 in 9 of the world population, are undernourished. RSI has worked with organizations like Project Pearls and Seeds in the Middle to sponsor feeding programs and provide monthly groceries and food supplies for families. We also participate in food drives, host community dinners, work with local food vendors and restaurateurs, and educate local youth on food sustainability and healthy eating.

INFRASTRUCTURE

How can we expect a community to flourish without a solid foundation? Both at home and abroad, many of the places we travel to are in need of basic infrastructure and social services, as well as community restoration programs. We personally see to the repairing and beautification of schools, gardens and community buildings, support organizations that work to educate and empower marginalized communities, and compile and share information and resources to help our supporters stay active, engaged, and involved.

HEALTH

We believe everyone has a right to free and accessible healthcare and services. Along with promoting health and wellness and providing informative resources, we work with health and birthing centers and support causes that provide medical services to low income and marginalized communities. Most recently, we helped raise funds for SUNY Downstate’s Department of Pathology. Our donation helped the hospital acquire much needed COVID-19 testing kits.

MUSIC & EVENTS

Art programs not only nurture creativity and development but they also foster lessons of love and acceptance. As an organization who is grounded in music and the arts, sound is one of our methods of connection, therapy, and activism; it allows us the opportunity to engage even deeper with the communities we work with.
